Container management with RFID
The traceability of foodstuffs, efficient consumer response as well as the “visions” of future stores demand pragmatic and economically meaningful solutions for the gap-free control and management of supply chains. From the economic perspective, not only the identification of individual foodstuffs plays a role here, but also on a higher aggregation level the rapid and clearly structured handling of a variety of load devices and transport containers.In conjunction with the data from the ERP systems and the order picking processes, the delivery of entire unit loads can be captured and checked down to article and batch level with the help of RFID solutions. This speeds up the receipt of incoming goods, shelf stacking, sales and ultimately the entire value chain.

The integration of RFID technology into EURO-LOG’s container management system has been successfully implemented since 2006. In pilot runs, our developers are currently testing how the reliability and cost-effectiveness of the system stand up in practical use. Because at EURO-LOG our goal is not a 98% solution, but 100% reliability and commercial value added for the customer.
We already achieve this target today in the intelligent combination of RFID and other conventional identification methods.
